The KiKa-Gios Anuronhon Women's Association was established on the 1st anniversary of super Typhoon Yolanda. The goal was to work together to achieve individual and collective success for all members. KiKa comes from the "waray-waray" word " KInabuhi tikang ha KAmatayon" meaning LIFE after DEATH. The 20 active members who survived the tragedies of Yolanda and were ready to face new challenges,began by creating a garden to grow their food and be self-sufficient. KiKa-GAWA formed the Banana Chips Production Livelihood project knowing that banana is one of the main crops of farmers across the whole municipality of Mercedes and neighbouring towns. The project's aim was to help use the raw bananas harvested by its members. KiKa-GAWA has developed many products like banana chips and banana flour which have become a source of pride for the community. Their first product, banana chips were offered as snacks and give-aways during the 2nd anniversary celebration.
