Eastern Visayas with its three island group of Leyte, Samar and Biliran is endowed with abundant and wide selection of raw materials. In tandem with product development clinics is the marketing of products, offering it to a wider base. This give birth to the conduct of regional exhibit to of Eastern Visayas aptly dubbed Bahandi or "Treasure". Initially organized by the Department of Trade and Industry in 1989. Bahandi is now a major annual marketing event for the manufacturing sector of non-traditional goods. By yearx2000, Bahandi were organized into an association known as Bahandi Producers Association of Eastern Visayas. Last Nov. 2019 , the association was officially registered at CDA as BPAEV Marketing Cooperative with more than 100 members - producers of Eastern Visayas BPAEV stands its mission to provide the effective, innovstive and enterprising development undertaking in pursuit of its products and services, promotions towards domestic and global competitiveness
