More negatively than you can possibly understand, negative self-talk affects your life. Without even realising it, we turn into our own greatest enemies and deprive ourselves of confidence and tranquilly. If left uncontrolled, this lack of optimism in our life may begin to have an impact on our health, making us anxious, tense, and unable to unwind.

Are you thinking of repairing it? It's simpler than you would imagine. Starting with positive self-talk and taking these six doable actions is the first step.

To begin with, you catch yourself doing it. Before it can take root, these three measures will stop negative self-talk:

1. Note it down

Maintaining a journal is an excellent way to understand your thoughts. Before going to bed, try outlining your thoughts for the day. This enables you to let go of emotions that could otherwise fester when you're trying to go asleep. You can get a sense of your current situation by going back and reading those entries later. It's possible that you've been more pessimistic lately than you realised.

2. Simply say "no"

Your task is to prevent negative thoughts from developing when you catch them in your head. You must say "no" to negative self-talk the moment you notice it starting to take over. If necessary, utter the word "Stop" out loud.

3. Pull Back

This therapy has long been recommended by psychologists to stop negative thoughts. You just wrap your wrist with a rubber band that doesn't fit too tightly. Just snap the rubber band anytime a bad thought comes to mind. You'll eventually discover that you instinctively cease those thoughts only to avoid the "punishment"

Next, try putting positive self-talk into practise by performing these three steps:

4. Downplay it

What word in the negative thinking can you modify to lessen the bite?

Maybe you were "mistaken" instead of "dumb."

Maybe you're "thoughtful" instead of "slow."

By being mindful of your language, you'll naturally begin to speak to yourself more positively.

5. Change sides

Turn it into a game.

Ask yourself whether you can change your statements such that they are neutral or even positive every time you hear yourself saying one in your brain.

Try to alter as many of these thoughts as you can.

6. Challenge everything

Negative presumptions should be turned into inquiries rather than being listened to. "That's impossible," for instance, can be changed to "How can I make that possible?" Since statements already have a conclusion, questions seek out a solution.

You'll find that life appears different if you keep track of what you do and take conscious action to alter the circumstance. You're feeling more at ease, and you might even choose to be optimistic. You start to feel a little better about yourself. You start realising the potential you've had all along at this point.
